Return of the King
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Nike’s Air Max 90. The 90 is arguably the most iconic of Nike’s Air Max range, what isn’t up for debate is just how much of a classic the Infrared colourway is.
It wasn’t too long ago we told you about Nike’s patch pack which released featuring a special edition of the Infrared 90 to commemorate Air Max day. They featured velcro patches across the upper for customisation but the 2015 Infrared stays true to the original. To celebrate the AM90 turning 25 there have already been a number of special versions like the cork and velvet editions and rumour has there are even more iterations of the 90 on the way.
The Infrared ones are the pair we’re really looking forward to though. Originally known as the Air Max III, the shoe was a revolution for its visible air unit, breathable mesh upper, multi-lacing and incandescent neon accents. A combination of motifs that has seen Tinker Hatfield’s design stay popular till this day. Restored to its full glory these are back for the umpteenth time and just as welcome as ever.
The Infrared 90 returns to selected outlets from May 16th.
