KR3W x French “Rights Refused” capsule
Words by Bossman75
I’ve been aware of KR3W through my obsession with LA brands for some time now, but with me only having a passing interest in skateboarding perhaps I paid too little attention to their collections. I’m happy to say that’s changed with KR3W having teamed up with World renowned artist and skateboarder French to bring us this modest yet badass capsule consisting of two t-shirts, short and long sleeved and a cap. This comes after the artist and brand curated an exhibition earlier this year at the Empire Gallery in Long Beach and utilizes French’s rendition of Death as well as the motto ‘Fast life, Slow Death’ – KR3W’s take on the classic ‘Live fast, die young’ saying. French, real name Richard Sayer has gone about his career by carving his own path and sticking to his unique style which has secured himself a place in the skateboard artist wall of fame, so it only made sense for KR3W and French to team up and release a capsule collection as part of their rights refused campaign. British born artist French boasts an extensive CV showcasing work for a number of fashion and footwear brands, record labels, and his work has appeared in multiple publications and advertising campaigns. All of this on top of a solid history of solo and group exhibitions. You shouldn’t pass this off as you’re average skateboarding brand collection, although influenced by association it isn’t skateboarder specific in design by any means.
