Bounty x Hunter Fall & Winter 14 American Football Series
The arrival of Autumn heralds more than just shorter wetter days, it also brings a new season of American Football. Whether you understand gridiron or not you can’t deny the global popularity of the NFL. Super Bowl XLVIII was watched by a record 112.2 million Americans, and an estimated 160 million total audience across some 198 countries. Since the very first game between Rutgers and Princeton back in 1869 football has played played a significant role in American culture, and unsurprisingly the Japanese are fans. Japan was introduced to the sport in 1934 by Paul Rusch, a teacher and Christian missionary who helped establish football teams at three universities in Tokyo. As of 2010, there are more than 400 high school football teams in Japan, with over 15,000 participants, and over 100 teams play in the Kantoh Collegiate Football Association (KCFA). For this Fall season Bounty x Hunter offer a complete series consisting of t-shirts, hoodies, raglan shirts and a coach jacket. Coming in black, white and grey colourways as per the Bounty x Hunter aesthetic, bold graphics and typically unsubtle branding give the items a substantial sportswear feel. I’ve yet to find a UK dealer with this series but you can buy direct from Bounty x Hunter Japan here.
